Sacraments

Baptism
Offers families the opportunity to celebrate the incorporation of a child into the midst of the community of faith.  It is administered whenever families come forward to request it, following preparation with a community educator/leader.  We regard Baptism as incorporation into our community.  It has been our tradition to have Baptism at Mass on Sunday as a way of showing this.
When there are adult candidates, 10:30 Community offers an extended process in adult spiritual growth within the Catholic Church, called “Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults” (RCIA), lasting several months, culminating in being baptized—or confirmed, if baptized in another Christian faith, or returning after a lengthy hiatus from the Church—at the Easter Vigil (Saturday night before Easter).

Confirmation
At 10:30 Community involves preparation of our youth through instruction and community service projects when we have candidates of middle school/high school age.  The celebration usually takes place along with another parish community, with the bishop or his priest-designee.

First Eucharist
Entails preparation of young children on Sunday mornings and with their families’ involvement.  It is celebrated in early May, usually on Mother’s Day.

Holy Eucharist
Is central to our community life and prayer; we celebrate every Sunday at Mass and other liturgical feast days.

Reconciliation
Is scheduled so that the whole community can celebrate this sacrament with our children who are preparing for First Holy Communion, generally during Lent.  Adults may also receive the sacrament at that time. Any of our priests would be willing to set up a time with our members/attendees for individual confessions, upon request.

Sacrament of Marriage
At the present time, we are not offering marriage preparation classes.  If a member of the 10:30 Catholic Community wishes to have a wedding at our church, they may contact the church administrator for information.

Sacrament of the Sick
Is offered in several formats: If one of our community members is facing surgery, illness or death, they may request one of our priests to come with the anointing to home or hospital.  Often, upon request, the community may gather around the person (if well enough to be present at church) after Mass, and lay hands upon them in prayer for healing and support.  Occasionally, when the readings of the liturgy emphasize such healing, we may have the priest celebrate the sacrament during Mass for any who wish to come forward.

In addition to our regular meetings, we hold annual preparatory classes for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation. These Sacraments are celebrated by area clergy and recognized by the Archdiocese of Denver and the greater Roman Catholic Church.
